The 18th Automotive Dialogue (AD) meeting was held in Yogyakarta, Indonesia in April, 2013. The AD members agreed to put more efforts in streamlining the work of the Dialogue and enhancing its connection with other APEC fora. More practical and value-added outputs are expected from the AD meetings. The economies agreed to focus on the most important issues of the industry, using the Automotive Dialogue as a venue to discuss the automotive industry and regional markets’ development, share information and seek partnerships.
Two concept notes were endorsed for Session 2 submission.
The next 19th Automotive Dialogue meeting is scheduled for September 2013 and will be held in Jakarta, Indonesia.
The 17th meeting of the Automotive Dialogue (AD) was held in St-Petersburg, Russia on 30-31 October 2012.
Members showed their interest in the current focus points of the AD and confirmed their intention to continue cooperation within the AD framework, streamline the activities to fit the APEC priorities set for each year and extend the intersessional preparations to allow more active work during the regular AD meetings.
The revised simplified template for survey on a small number of automotive safety areas was circulated aiming at the discussion of the survey results at the next AD meeting.
Discussions on the Electric Vehicles, Smart Grids, Remanufacturing and Market Development were held. A number of Peer Reviews were also presented by the participating economies.
