The CTI Annual Report to Ministers for 2018 outlines the Committee’s accomplishments and recommendations in the key priority areas of APEC’s Trade and Investment Liberalization and Facilitation (TILF) agenda in support of APEC’s 2018 priorities under the theme, “Harnessing Inclusive Opportunities, Embracing the Digital Future”. CTI in 2018 has sought to respond to Papua New Guinea’s host year priority to improve connectivity between economies and deepen regional economic integration. CTI has focused on: what APEC can do to support and improve the multilateral trading system; efforts to achieve free and open trade in the region through reducing barriers to trade and investment; improving procedures at the border and along supply chains in order to facilitate trade; and harmonizing standards and regulations to reduce the costs associated with trade.
