The Deputy Executive Director of the APEC Secretariat who will become the Executive Director in 2004, Ambassador Mario Artaza, features on a webcast interview with the Hong Kong Trade Development Council.

Recorded during his outreach visit to Hong Kong, Ambassador Artaza discusses important aspects of the 2003 APEC Year and looks to the future. The SARS threat and the WTO meeting in Cancun are two key issues that featured prominently on the APEC Agenda in 2003. The scheduled WTO meeting in Hong Kong and the prospect of a resurgence of SARS will ensure these issues are on the Agenda for the 2004 APEC Year hosted by the Republic of Chile.
