Secure Trade in the APEC Region (STAR) Conference this Week, Live Audio Webcast of Event Conclusion and Media Conference

Representatives from APEC's 21 member economies, the private sector and international organizations are meeting in Bangkok, Thailand, from February 23 to 25 for the Secure Trade in the APEC Region (STAR) Conference.

The STAR Conference is an important forum in APEC's efforts to reduce the negative impact of terrorism on the regional economy while at the same time increasing the efficiency of cargo handling and the movement of people.

Representatives from media organizations are invited to attend the opening and conclusion of the STAR Conference. There is a scheduled photo opportunity at the start of the conference and a media conference at the conference conclusion.

The audio Webcast, sponsored by Bearing Point (Formerly KPMG Consulting), will begin at 5pm on Tuesday, Bangkok local time (USA East Coast - Tuesday 5am; London - Tuesday 10am; Sydney - Tuesday 9pm)

Individual interviews with experts and guest speakers attending the STAR Conference will be arranged in person or via telephone.
