Webcast: President Lagos Opens the APEC International Media Centre (En Español)

The first formal event to take place in the lead up to the 2004 APEC Leaders Meeting has taken place in Santiago, Chile, with the opening of the APEC International Media Centre by President Ricardo Lagos.

In his opening address President Lagos of Chile welcomed the media who will use the International Media Center to prepare news for global distribution over the following ten days.

The current series of meetings in Chile includes the Concluding Meeting of APEC Senior Officials on November 14-15, the Annual Joint Ministerial Meeting on November 17-18 and the APEC Economic Leaders' Meeting on November 20-21.

Other events include the APEC Business Advisory Council (ABAC) Meeting on November 17-19 and the APEC CEO Summit on November 19-21.
