Last call: 2014 APEC Economic Leaders’ Week media registration closing soon
Media registration will soon close for the 2014 APEC Economic Leaders’ Week, to be hosted in Beijing by China and chaired by President Xi Jinping.
The registration deadline for media is Wednesday, 15 October. Interested journalists are encouraged to submit their information, following the registration procedure described below, as quickly as possible.
Background:
The 2014 APEC Economic Leaders’ Week will coincide with the 25th anniversary of APEC’s founding to boost trade and economic cooperation across the Pacific and bring together the Leaders, Ministers and Senior Officials of the 21 APEC member economies to unlock new growth vital to global recovery and long-term prosperity. The proceedings will include:
APEC Concluding Senior Officials’ Meeting: Beijing, 5-6 November
Guided by China Vice Foreign Minister and Chair of the 2014 APEC Senior Officials’ Meeting Li Baodong, APEC Senior Officials from member economies will finalize a package of new growth-enhancing measures.
APEC Ministerial Meeting: Beijing, 7-8 November
Hosted by China Foreign Affairs Minister Wang Yi and Commerce Minister Gao Hucheng, and including Foreign Affairs and Trade Ministers from the other 20 APEC economies, the meeting will decide the contours of joint policy development and implementation moving forward.
APEC CEO Summit: Beijing, 9-10 November
An open dialogue held in conjunction with the APEC Economic Leaders’ Week and organized by the private sector featuring the region’s Leaders and business heads.
APEC Economic Leaders’ Meeting: Yanqi Lake, 10-11 November
Chaired by China President Xi Jinping and including the Leaders of the other 20 APEC economies, the meeting will provide strategic vision and directives for future collaboration.

All interested media should register online. To do so, visit http://mediacenter.apec-china.org.cn/en/, click on the red “Registration” link on the right side of the screen and complete the registration steps. A confirmation email will be sent.
