The winners were evaluated by a judging panel consisting of world renowned photojournalists, industry experts and senior public officials including APEC Executive Director Alan Bollard, Agence France-Presse Chief Photo Editor Eric Baradat, Philippine presidential photographer Gil Nartea, award-winning photographer Palani Mohan,  and Philippine Department of Foreign Affairs Undersecretary and Chair of APEC 2015 Senior Officials Laura Del Rosario.

The APEC Photo Contest is held annually and seeks public participation in capturing the APEC priorities through images. This year, APEC is hosted by the Philippines whose chosen priorities include fostering SMEs’ participation in regional and global markets, investing in human capital development and building sustainable and resilient communities under the theme ‘Building Inclusive Economies, Building a Better World.’

The annual photo contest is a way for those who live in the 21 member economies of APEC to show how APEC’s work and priorities affect and influence their daily lives. In turn, APEC has the opportunity to connect with its member economies to see how beneficial sustainable economic growth and prosperity make a difference in the Asia-Pacific region.
