Minister McClay says that New Zealand is a strong player in APEC and that his economy believes in the greater regional integration of markets through lowering tariff rates and removing restrictions. This, he says, presents big opportunities for New Zealand businesses. He also expresses appreciation of discussions on SMEs and on ways that APEC economies can reduce barriers to make it easier for small businesses to play a role in the global supply chain.
