Description
Participants of the APEC Task Force on Emergency Preparedness (TFEP) Workshop on Damage Assessment Techniques, held in Yogyakarta from 3 to 6 August 2009, recommend APEC Emergency Management CEOs and then the Task Force endorse common principles for damage and loss assessment. These principles are provided in this document. They outline the general objective and scope of damage and loss assessments and advocate taking into account the human dimension of disasters and engaging local community stakeholders.
