This workshop became an unprecedented meeting to discuss the importance of SMEs in the safety of food being supplied, produced, traded and consumed by APEC economies. It became apparent that SMEs receive awareness, education and training in food safety to enable better adherence and conformity to regulations.

This report provides summary, recommendations and some presentations of the above workshop held in Indonesia in April 2013.
