This report attempts to identify the issues and challenges faced by APEC economies in the process of developing maritime connectivity and puts forward recommendations aimed at future efforts to be made by APEC. It outlines possible directions for addressing the issues on port congestion, shipment information sharing, trade liberalization, trade facilitation and relation with IMO rule.

In addition, this study also covers the perspective of GVCs and is expected to be contributive to the implementation of “APEC Strategic Blueprint for Promoting Global Value Chains Development and Cooperation”.
