Description

This report is a gaps assessment of energy efficiency and conservation work conducted to date by the Energy Working Group, particularly the Expert Group on Energy Efficiency and Conservation (EGEEC), to ensure continued progress toward the Leaders’ energy intensity reduction goal. The primary objectives are to: 1) identify existing gaps in energy efficiency knowledge and efforts to date; 2) facilitate the exchange of best low carbon policies, practices and tools among APEC economies to promote sustainable communities across the region; 3) highlight best practices as aggregated on the Energy Smart Communities Initiative-Knowledge Sharing Platform (ESCI-KSP) employed within the APEC region to improve energy performance; 4) develop recommendations to help guide future energy efficiency projects on common priority areas; and 5) ultimately help provide guidance to individual economies on pursuing the most beneficial energy efficiency efforts to achieve progress towards the Leaders’ goal.
