This report summarizes the discussions of a two-day workshop held in Mexico City from 9-10 April 2018. The event brought together policy makers, statisticians and energy experts to collaborate and share best practices, information, and recommendations.

The workshop was conducted with the following objectives:

1. Create synergies between participants at the workshop on energy statistics and Geographic Information Systems (GIS). As a result, the information that the economies submit to the Energy Working Group will be more efficient and effective,
2. Help Mexico's Ministry of Energy to develop a more robust, reliable and timely Energy Information System (SIE).
