Description
This report examines the policies and systems designed to facilitate youth employment in Japan, Korea, Singapore, and Viet Nam. It identifies common issues including: (i) skills mismatches between labor supply and demand; (ii) an increasing share of young people with poor quality jobs; and (iii) youth not in employment, education or training increasingly becoming a serious social issue, especially in Korea. The report concludes by identifying various recommendations and best practices in this area for all APEC economies.
