This report presents the results and recommendation of the APEC Follow-up Peer Review on Energy Efficiency (PREE) in Malaysia, which was conducted by a PREE Review Team of six experts who visited Putrajaya, Malaysia from 26-30 March 2018.

The PREE Review Team held comprehensive discussions on energy efficiency with representatives from government ministries and agencies. The review covers two specific sectors – transport and industry. Each sector is covered by three experts that were brought in from international agency as well as representative of APEC economies.

This report concludes that Malaysia has made a very good progress in improving energy efficiency. Awareness and government initiatives, with support of reliable data, are crucial in developing a comprehensive energy efficiency plan.
