On 28-29 March 2019, the APEC Workshop on Energy and Economic Prosperity – focusing on renewable energy – was held in Da Nang, Viet Nam. The workshop sought to (i) enhance understanding on the importance of meeting emerging energy demand to the achievement of economic prosperity in the APEC region; (ii) present available analysis on the changing energy landscape and energy prices on the competitiveness of both consuming and producing economies; (iii) provide the opportunities for economic and energy experts from APEC member economies, energy producers and investors (business sector) to share information, good practices and provide recommendations on meeting the challenges of achieving energy market growth, extending services to unserved populations and solving the environmental problems among others.
This publication provides background of the project, summary of presentations, discussions and recommendations from the workshop.
