The study evaluates the potential application of small-scale shallow-draft LNG carriers and floating storage regasification units  or FSRUs in the APEC region and provides recommendations for the introduction of such LNG infrastructure. Five APEC economies are shortlisted as potential candidates for the implementation of these solutions: Indonesia; Papua New Guinea; the Philippines; Thailand; and Viet Nam. Factors considered for this shortlisting are: GDP per capita based on purchasing power parity (PPP), total primary energy supply (TPES) per capita, location as a coastal Southeast Asian member economy, and impacts on the lives of women.
