This report provides the summary of the workshop, APEC Workshop on the R&D and Promotion of Smart Agriculture, held as a hybrid event from 23-24 November 2020. The workshop was held with an overarching goal of promoting Smart Agriculture 4.0 and safeguarding food security. It aimed to increase productivity of farmers by establishing a sustainable production pattern that is both labor-saving and environmentally friendly. Gender inclusion was also one of the highlights of the discussion. With the assistance of technologies, female farmers can strike a balance in between work and family. The event was well-attended by a total of 96 participants and speakers from public and private sectors. After all, the development of Smart Agriculture relies heavily on joint collaboration among APEC member economies.
