Description
This report summarizes the presentations and discussions in the workshop conducted under a project focusing on Science, Technology Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM)-Plus education for women and girls. To deepen regional economic Integration, promote inclusivity, gender equality and connect people in STEM-PLUS fields, the Phase 2 future “glocalized” scientific literacy enhancement project engaged participants to collaborate, exchange, joint-innovate, and share training to:
- enhance science teachers’ competence on cultivating students’ scientific literacy through implementing innovative designs of science and technology curriculum standards for K-12 with emphasis on the development of sustainable growth, in particular, for female learners;
- provide longitudinal exchange of STEM-PLUS practice experiences on issues and products ranging from curriculum design, implementation of STEM-PLUS curriculum, emergent challenges arising from implementation of novel approaches in STEM-PLUS education during the event to exemplify the impact of APEC region exchanges of new science educational initiatives with glocalization approach; and
- share existing good practices on gender related issues in STEM-PLUS fields at the workshop, which will comprise themed talks and workshop on STEM teachers’ training, curriculum design, and school visits.
