This report summarizes key messages and recommendations as well as outcomes and participants' feedback from the APEC Climate Symposium – Innovations in Climate Communication for Enhancing Human Security to Manage Risks of Climate Extremes  held virtually on 13-14 July 2021.

Main discussion topics discussed with representatives from APEC member economies are included. Efforts and challenges in implementing climate information services in application sectors such as disaster risk reduction and water management, and the needs and expectations from the climate information providers are listed. Recommendations to enhance the use of climate information to inform decision-making in response to the climate crisis are provided for APEC member economies. In addition, needs for effective
climate information communications strategies as well as challenges for communicating climate information are identified. Effective strategies and solutions for better communication climate information is investigated as well.
