Workshop on Nanoplastics in Marine Debris in the APEC Region

This report outlines the outcomes of the Workshop on Micro- and Nanoplastics in Marine Debris in the APEC Region held 13– 5 December 2021. The main objective of the workshop was to promote communication and cooperation among policymakers and scientists from across the APEC region in addressing the emerging challenge of micro- and nanoplastics in marine debris, avoiding redundant efforts, and accelerating the development of this critical area of marine debris science for the benefit of the entire APEC community. The workshop was broken down into plenary sessions, and parallel discussion sessions on specific technical topics where panel speakers shared their experiences and research that was summarized in this report.
