The Healthy Asia Pacific 2020 commits to strengthen pragmatic multisectoral collaboration for ageing population. This report summarizes the key points discussed at the workshop to support APEC member economies in increasing awareness on best practices and strategies in addressing healthy and active ageing challenges for the population in this region. In the report, fundamentals targeted towards the two action areas set out in the Decade of Healthy Ageing 2020-2030, namely changing beliefs, thinking, and feelings, for communities to foster abilities of older people are discussed in detailed and presented. It is hoped that the report will benefit other member economies from the sharing of experiences and lessons learned, for cross fertilization of ideas as well as the opinions and recommendations from experts.
