The Capacity Building Needs Initiative (CBNI) has been implemented since 2012. The CBNI aims at building the capacity of developing economies to enhance their understanding of FTAs/RTAs and build their capacities to negotiate comprehensive agreements of high-quality and that include new issues. This will support the eventual realization of FTAAP. Various projects have been implemented under Phase 1 (2012-2014) and 2 (2015-2017) and 3 (2018-2021) of CBNI as listed below. APEC is currently implementing the 4th Phase of CBNI (CBNI 4).
