This report provides a summary of the seminar on promoting circular economy and sustainable materials management to address marine plastic litter in the region. It presents the key points discussed in the seminar including marine plastic pollution – a major global environmental problem; rethinking plastic – the circular economy solution to marine litter; circular economy practices for addressing the marine plastic litter challenge; the Aotearoa Plan of Action on implementing the APEC Putrajaya Vision 2040; and new partnership towards a zero plastic emission in the Asia-Pacific.
