This report is a compilation of experience of some APEC economies that have achieved greater development in environmental monitoring technologies. The workshop highlights that the appropriate implementation of such technologies allows gathering data that contributes to improving the development and design of public policies aimed at effectively abating environmental pollution. Additionally, throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, these digital technologies have helped to improve monitoring of economies by replacing on-site surveillance.
