This handbook aims to become a comprehensive guideline for the enhancement of sustainable tourism management, contextualized for the Asia-Pacific region. It is the fruition of the project TWG 05 2021S to enhance sustainable tourism management, develop management standard, exchange experiences and best practice in the Asia-Pacific destinations, and ensure long-term positive image of APEC economies. The handbook covers a range of topics, including trends of tourism in the post COVID-19; a review of internationally recognized visitor management tools; guidelines and handbook of the new APEC Sustainable Tourism Evaluation Tool for Visitor and Destination (ASTET); together with analysis of sustainability and consistency of the visitor management assessment tools in the contexts of Thailand and the Asia-Pacific region.
