The workshop aimed to enhance the capacity of APEC members and promote collaboration among the APEC Energy Working Group (EWG), APEC fora, and external partners. The objectives were:
(1) to achieve APEC’s goals of increasing renewable energy and reducing energy intensity, and
(2) to strengthen the cooperation for carbon neutrality.
The workshop covered topics such as:
• global climate action and the APERC’s Energy Demand and Supply Outlook,
• successful energy efficiency policies and initiatives in APEC,
• successful renewable energy policies and initiatives in APEC, and
• emerging low-carbon technologies and economic instruments.
The Workshop Summary Report summaries the workshop sharing, and serve as a reference to encourage APEC member economies to set their respective energy efficiency (EE) and renewable energy (RE) targets, policy framework, and roadmap to achieve APEC’s goals and carbon neutrality
