Global warming has caused the raising of sea level and other climate changes such as desertification and an increase in extreme weather events such as hurricanes, floods and fires. These changes has made scientific community and the world gradually shift to renewable and sustainable energy. In other words, it is critical to transit to a climate-resilient future global economy and appreciate net zero or carbon neutrality commitments with energy transition playing an important role. In order to achieve the sustainable transition, the role of technology is profoundly important..
The APEC Workshop on Promoting Technology to Contribute to Sustainable Energy Transition was held in Ha Noi, Viet Nam on 30-31 May 2024 with the objective of sharing about the experiences and good practices in promoting technology to contribute to sustainable energy transition towards a low carbon economy.
This Report summarized the Workshop proceedings, discussions and recommendation to APEC and member economies.
