Description
This publication investigates the status, challenges, and strategies for sustainable entrepreneurship across APEC economies. Aligning with the Putrajaya Vision 2040, the report utilizes literature reviews, policy analysis, and surveys from 16 member economies to assess the current entrepreneurial ecosystem. Key findings reveal that while sustainable ventures are expanding in sectors like manufacturing and agriculture, they face significant barriers: an immature ecosystem with financing gaps, critical skill deficiencies in management and commercialization, and inadequate training infrastructure. To address these challenges, the report proposes three strategic recommendations: strengthening policy implementation and inter-agency coordination; scaling and standardizing entrepreneur training within national education systems; and formulating a dedicated APEC action plan to facilitate cross-economy knowledge sharing and industrial cooperation. Ultimately, the project aims to equip policymakers with actionable recommendations to foster a resilient, inclusive, and innovation-driven green economy throughout the Asia-Pacific region.
