This report focuses on the life cycle analytical assessments of photovoltaic (PV) systems; solar farm system, solar rooftop system and solar for rural electrification system. In particular, this report provides comprehensive descriptions of methods and models used when analyzing the PV systems life cycle from cradle-to-grave. The objectives of the report are: 1) to propose the best practices and viable type of PV systems based on their life cycle assessment; 2) to determine and understand the PV systems impact and contribution towards the low carbon society; and 3) to analyze the new PV systems technology life cycle and best practices to draw out highlighted issues for viability. The best practices in PV systems within the APEC economies such as Malaysia, Thailand, and Indonesia are documented.
