ANNOUNCING THE LAUNCH OF THE APEC BIO-CIRCULAR-GREEN (BCG) AWARD
APEC is pleased to announce that applications for the 2026 Bio-Circular-Green Award are now being accepted.
The APEC BCG Award recognises distinguished MSMEs, as key drivers within APEC economies, that have concretely implemented BCG economy approaches to advance economic growth, to serve as inspirations for the wider communities, and to provide replicable examples that can be applied elsewhere.
NOMINATIONS
Each member economy, through its representative in the Senior Officials' Meeting Steering Committee on Economic and Technical Cooperation, is invited to nominate one candidate to be considered for each Award category.
Nominations for each Award category must meet the following eligibility criteria:

| Number of Employees: Not over 500. | ||
| In operation for at a minimum of one calendar year. | ||
| Own and operate a business in the nominating APEC economy. | ||
| Represent a replicable BCG business model/approach/activity(ies). | ||
In addition to advancing implementation of the Bangkok Goals on BCG Economy, member economies are also encouraged to submit nominations in support of the APEC 2026 theme “Building an Asia-Pacific Community to Prosper Together”
Nominations for each category should be submitted by 17 July 2026. All eligible nominees will be sent to the BCG Award Selection Committee for consideration. Kindly refer to the Nomination Package for the APEC BCG Award 2026 available on this webpage.
ANNOUNCEMENT & AWARDING OF PRIZE
The APEC BCG Award 2026 may be conferred on up to three winners in the MSME category.
The Award winner(s) will be announced at the 2026 APEC Concluding Senior Officials´ Meeting scheduled to be held in Mid November in Shenzhen, People's Republic of China.
Each Award winner will receive a cash prize of $5,000 USD.
OVERVIEW
In November 2022, during the 33rd APEC Ministerial Meeting in Bangkok, Thailand, APEC Ministers launched the APEC BCG Award. The award was co-proposed by Canada, China, and Thailand, and co-sponsored by Hong Kong, China; New Zealand; Peru; and the United States, with prize funding provided by contributions from Canada, China, Hong Kong, China, and Thailand. At the 34th APEC Ministerial Meeting on November 14, 2023, in San Francisco, USA, six winners were announced, followed by the recognition of three winners at the 35th APEC Ministerial Meeting on November 14, 2024, in Lima, Peru and the acknowledgement of three winners at the 36th APEC Ministerial Meeting on October 30, 2025, in Gyeongju, Republic of Korea.
