Minister Li's Statement on the 32nd APEC Small and Medium Enterprises Ministerial Meeting

APEC Small and Medium Enterprises Ministerial Meeting Guangzhou, People's Republic of China | 05 September 2026

On Friday in Guangzhou, Li Lecheng, Chair of the 32nd APEC Small and Medium Enterprises Ministerial Meeting and China’s Minister of Industry and Information Technology, shared with ministers a statement that reflects a direction for strengthening micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) across the Asia-Pacific region.

The statement noted the efforts of economies to foster MSMEs’ development and strengthen their participation in global value chains, including through leveraging industry clusters and special economic zones.

Ministers also reaffirmed that bolstering MSME supply chain resilience is vital to Asia-Pacific economic growth.
