Description
The ROPES project addresses the Asia-Pacific region’s urgent need for sustainable development by fostering a skilled, diverse workforce in green technology. This project aims to bridge the skills gap in renewable energy and green tech by enhancing training pathways, supporting reskilling, and promoting inclusivity, especially for marginalized communities. Through a workshop held in Taipei, Chinese Taipei in September 2024, policymakers, industry leaders, and educators exchanged best practices on green workforce development, focusing on gender equality and inclusivity. Aligned with APEC’s goals for sustainable and inclusive growth, this project supports the APEC Putrajaya Vision 2040 by helping businesses and governments identify skills essential for achieving net-zero goals. Emphasizing public-private partnerships, this project ensures resources are directed toward green workforce initiatives, fostering innovation, resilience, and long-term economic and environmental sustainability in the region.
