Description

Rural and remote areas are critical to the development of economies and have received much attention in recent years. However, most people living in rural areas of developing APEC economies currently do not have proper and regular access to energy. One solution to this problem is making use of plants, crops, among others, which are abundant in rural/remote areas to create energy. Promoting biomass energy is an effective way to contribute to the development of rural and remote area. This report summarizes the workshop proceedings, discussions and recommendation to APEC and member economies gathered at the Workshop on Promoting Biomass Energy for Rural and Remote Area Development held in Ha Noi, Viet Nam in October 2024.
