The report compiles publicly accessible official websites and databases from participating APEC economies to support cross-border criminal investigations and strengthen Mutual Legal Assistance (MLA) processes. Developed under the ACT-NET Project, it identifies and systematizes 67 links across five key categories, including records on individuals, legal entities, assets, tax and customs data, and other relevant registries. Drawing on two surveys, desk research, and collaboration with focal points, the publication highlights how reliable open-source information can enhance investigative efficiency, reduce dependence on formal MLA, and improve evidence gathering in corruption and money-laundering cases. It also provides guidance on the concepts, benefits, and practical use of official online resources, accompanied by recommendations to reinforce their application across APEC jurisdictions.
