As a key outcome of the project "OFWG 04 2025S: 8th APEC Blue Economy Forum", this report provides a systematic review of the status, challenges, and solutions for the sustainable use of marine biological resources across the Asia-Pacific region. Drawing on case studies from APEC economies, it highlights a diverse range of practices from Australia; Brunei Darussalam; China; Indonesia; Malaysia; Peru; and Viet Nam. To address some common challenges identified in practice of some economies, including ecological-economic conflicts, policy implementation gaps, technological and data deficiencies, and insufficient cross-border cooperation, the report proposed recommendations in three key areas: strengthening the ecological foundation of marine resources, promoting blue economy innovation through joint investment and research, and improving sustainable resource management with broader public engagement.
