The project Strengthening Community Resilience in the Face of Intensified Disaster Risk Reduction (EPWG 104 2024A) brought together representatives from APEC member economies and subject matter experts through a two-day workshop held in Santiago, Chile. The workshop informed the development of recommendations, strategies, and analyses on community resilience and the integration of disaster risk reduction and climate change adaptation into local development planning. This report summarizes the workshop discussions, presentations, and interactive sessions, highlighting good practices, common challenges, and opportunities for strengthening collaboration among APEC member economies. It also presents the project's key findings and recommendations, emphasizing multi-level governance, stakeholder engagement, and cross-sectoral coordination to support more resilient, inclusive, and climate-responsive local development across the APEC region.
