Description
This publication comprises the Technical Report, Workshop Reports, and Policy Brief for the project. The Technical Report offers a detailed analysis of Electrical Energy Storage (EES) market settings, focusing on Malaysia; Papua New Guinea; and Thailand. It examines: (i) current electricity sector market settings in these economies; (ii) best practices for EES market settings among APEC economies; (iii) information gaps critical for advancing EES investments; and (iv) tailored recommendations for improving EES market settings to encourage further investment. The Workshop Reports capture insights, discussions, and recommendations from the project's four workshops. The Policy Brief highlights key opportunities and lessons learned to inform energy policy improvements and strengthen electricity supply systems through EES adoption. Together, these components provide a comprehensive overview of the project’s findings and actionable recommendations for promoting EES adoption and market setting in the region.
